Hi all,
HERMAN has just taken his first steps! Yes, that's right, the brewing robot is
doing his stuff, keeping my mash at an even 66C while I type.
I just want to say thanks to the brewing community at large. The internet has
given us a great tool for sharing information and it is fabulous to be part of
this email group. I could not have created HERMAN without it, nor would I have
been able to make the Abbey Ale I'm making today without oz.craftbrewing. (It
is only right to make a Belgian beer on their national day!)
Thanks to those world-wide who have posted information on RIMS and HERMS.
Thanks in particular to Ken Schwartz who started me off on my brewing temp
controller and monitor. This whet my appetite to do the full computer thing.
For the Belgian beer I'm creating today, thanks in particular to Graham Sanders
and Steve Lacey for the grain roasting article on the web, and again to Graham
for the article on Belgian candi sugar.
Thanks also to those who have shared an interest in the HERMAN project. Today
is part of the fine-tuning and learning curve, but a web article will be coming.
... now I'd better get to the housework while HERMAN moves to mash out.
cheers all,
Arnie
